Running AREIS from a network CDROM mount

Server Configuration :
AREIS CD into the CD drive that is shared across your network. Set
the appropriate permissions.
Client Configuration :
Use Windows/NT Explorer to map the network drive that contains the CD-ROM.
The AREIS application will read from the Windows Registry to determine the location of your
CD-ROM drive. If it fails to find the
required registry setting it will attempt to read from the clients local CD-ROM
drive. You need to manually configure the registry on each PC that needs to read
the CD over a network. The following steps outline the configuration process.
There is a bug in the application that causes the search warning not to appear.
- Start Regedit. Click the
Start button on the taskbar. Select Run... from the menu. Type regedit in the Open box. The Registry Editor will
start.
- Naviagate to the correct
key.. Click the plus next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. The tree view will
expand to show more options. Click the plus next to SOFTWARE. Click the plus
next to LUCAS COUNTY. Click on the VIEWER folder.
- Modify the registry. In
the right hand pane right click. From the resulting context popup menu
select New, then String Value. Type in the name WORKAROUND1 and press enter.
Move the mouse over the word WORKAROUND1 and right click. From the resulting
menu select Modify. Under Value Data type the directory the CD-ROM is
mounted on. For example, if the CD-ROM is mounted on the K drive, type in K:
