| When adding a new or replacing an existing residential driveway and apron, a permit is
required for the work being done in the public rights of way along county and township
roads. The Lucas County Engineer’s Office issues permits for all driveways, sidewalks and
any other work involving curb, gutters and storm drains within the road right-of-way. The
Engineer’s Office provides permits along the 300 miles of county road system and for all of
