Our sixteenth Lucas County Prosecutor was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and came to Lucas County as a very young child. He studied at the University of Michigan, first literature, then law. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1876 at a time when almost all attorneys merely "studied" and "read" law prior to admission to the Bar. Kennedy was elected Lucas County Prosecutor in 1879 and served until 1882.
