Emanuel Enriquez/Bowling Green, Ohio/
The Knothole Gang - This sculpture will be placed on the sidewalk surrounding
the ballpark on the St. Clair Street side. It depicts a gang of four life-sized children
attempting to look through the knotholes of a fence to see whos at bat. The figures will
be made of bronze while the fence will be made of a weathered barn siding type wood. The
piece references the Knothole Gang kids who used to frequent Swayne Field, a former home
of the Mud Hens.
John Rogers/ Portland, Oregon/ Main Entry Gates - The design utilizes large 14-18 foot wooden bats to
frame in steel gates that will have baseball themed elements attached to them The main entrance is
located on the corner of Huron and Washington. Mr. Rogers has been commissioned to do major
architectural artwork installations for Florida State University, Miami and Portland International
Airports, Boeing Corporation and other public and private groups.
Leslie Adams/ Toledo, Ohio/ Historical Mural - The 13-by-84-foot mural will be located on the
Washington Street side of the ballpark opposite of Superior Street. The section of Superior Street
that has been removed for the ballpark was the site of Toledos original farmers market. The mural
will be completed in such a manner that it will appear as if you are looking into the original farmers
market. Ms. Adams was recently the subject of a feature article in The Toledo Blade on October 13, 2001.
She is a nationally-recognized portrait artist and muralist who created the mural for St. Johns
Jesuit High School in Toledo.
Frank Gaylord/ Barre, Vermont/ I Got It! - The bronze sculpture features three life-sized boys in
old-time uniforms competing for a fly ball. The sculpture will be placed on a turntable to be designed
by the University of Toledos Engineering Department. The sculpture will be placed on the concourse
area just outside the left field foul line near Monroe and Superior. The turntable will be designed
to sit in two positions. One position, posed at game time, will allow the figures to appear as if
they are vying for a foul fly ball. During pre-game, the other position poses the figures facing
Monroe Street providing for a perfect photo opportunity with the field and ballpark as the backdrop.
At the start of each game the turntable will be ceremoniously turned. Mr. Gaylord is best known for
creating the Korean War Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Jim Gallucci/ Greensboro, North Carolina/ Manhole Covers - The manhole covers in and around the
ballpark will be replaced with baseball-themed manhole covers. Mr. Gallucci has enjoyed several major
public commissions. Most notably, he created Millennium Gates for the state of North Carolinas
millennial celebration.
