The Board of Commissioners for Lucas County, Ohio is in the process of seeking firms interested in designing a new county sports facility to be used primarily for housing the Toledo Mud Hens Triple A baseball team. Enclosed for your consideration is a Request For Qualifications For Architectural Services For The Design And Construction Of A Triple A Baseball Sports Facility. The Lucas County Board of Commissioners welcomes responses from both qualified individual architectural firms as well as architectural teams to this Request For Qualifications (“RFQ”).

The successful individual firm or team must possess demonstrated skill and experience in designing professional baseball parks or similar professional sports venues. The successful firm or team must demonstrate an ability to design a facility in a downtown urban location that is sensitive to the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood and adept at incorporating historic structures and indigenous materials into the fabric of a ballpark. A demonstrated history of designing facilities that meet budget and time constraints is a necessary element for the successful firm or team. A site for the ballpark has been chosen in the downtown Toledo, Ohio area. A full description of the site is contained in an Action Plan prepared by our ballpark consultant, Gateway Consulting Group. Please review the attached RFQ for a more thorough recitation of the instructions for submission. Responses are due no later than 3:00 pm on December 23, 1999. We hope that you will participate in this exciting project.
