General Facts:
Located in downtown Toledo's Warehouse District on a site bordered by
Washington, Huron, Monroe, and St. Clair Streets
- Scheduled to open in April, 2002 for the Toledo Mud Hens home opener
- Gateway Consulting is Lucas County Ballpark project consultant, HNTB is
ballpark architect, Lathrop Construction is project construction manager
Ballpark Budget:
- Overall project cost is approximately $39.2 million
- Guaranteed Maximum Price for ballpark construction is about $31.3 million
- What about the difference between the two figures? The extra cost involves
land acquisition, site preparation, ballpark design, permits and fees, and
interior fixtures and furniture not directly associated with construction.
- What does the Guaranteed Maximum Price mean? That is a total price for
ballpark construction agreed upon between Lathrop and the Lucas County
Board of Commissioners. Lathrop has agreed to assume financial
responsibility for cost overruns and any construction delays. The GMP
protects Lucas County's investment and keeps taxpayers out of harm's way.

- 90,000 cubic yards of dirt excavated from site

- Stadium site covers eight acres

Construction Timeline:
- Steel skeleton completed by Memorial Day, 2001
